The astrostatistics book Bayesian Models for Astrophysical Data - using R, JAGS, Python and Stan, Cambridge University Press 2017, written by COIN chairs Rafael S. de Souza and Emille E. O. Ishida and former IAA President Joseph M. Hilbe won the acclaimed 2018 Prose Award in the category Cosmology and Astronomy.

"This book is a product of our experiences within the Cosmostatistics Initiative (COIN), and an attempt to mitigate the barriers we encountered so many times in the exercise of constructing a truthfully interdisciplinary community. We hope it will be helpful to astronomers wishing to dig in the particularities of Bayesian modeling and to non-astronomers interested in applying their tools to astronomical data."
