COIN model presented to the Science of Team Science community

The COIN model was accepted for presentation at the 12th Annual International Science of Team Science Conference, hosted by Virginia Tech (USA) and held online between 7 – 11 June 2021.

The International Network for Science of Team Science aims to create and facilitate a high-impact community that develops and disseminates an evidence-base to support team science and shapes how research can be conducted to solve complex problems.

In this context, COIN presents a unique model for the operation of international and interdisciplinary teams. The description and systematization of COIN activities were brought to light by a group of COIN members that has been working since November 2020 on the meta-project of discussing group designs and criteria for measuring interdisciplinarity.

This was our first active participation in the conference. It allowed us to glimpse current developments in the field and gave us material to adapt for future endeavors within COIN.
